The 2017APCS was an enriching experience, resulting in many high calibre business connections for my business. I look forward to participating in the 2019APCS in Brisbane, further promoting the city.

The Summit provided excellent international exposure for our business and Brisbane as a city. In particular, the networking opportunities with fellow Brisbane business leaders and international delegates was invaluable. The quality of speakers was also exceptional. Brisbane School of Hairdressing will definitely be participating in future Summits.

I only have the highest praise for what is unquestionably the best platform to engage with high level delegates on matters relevant to our communities. The effort made to connect likeminded delegates and participants, with a focus on real engagement rather than idle chatter, was most impressive and appreciated. The 2017APCS in Daejeon proved to be most beneficial for Cortex, and I am grateful we had the opportunity to attend. I extend my greatest thanks to the entire team for their efforts, and of course our Lord Mayor Graham Quirk for establishing and maintaining a wonderful and most valuable event.

APCS was a unique opportunity to broaden my business perspective and step away from the office and re-think my approach. It was inspiring to see what other people are doing in the technology industry and to hear from high level key note speakers. The connections that I made were easily equivalent to 10 domestic business trips and I have made a number of solid business leads from the event. As a speaker in a plenary session, I was able to also raise my domestic and international profile. I would certainly participate in future Asia Pacific Cities Summits.

I attended the 2017APCS as a member of the Lord Mayor’s Delegation and as a panelist talking about blockchain technologies in cities. Being the first time that I had attended the Summit, I was not sure what to expect. Council’s International Relations and Multicultural Affairs Team’s planning prior to leaving Brisbane was exceptional. Every detail was taken care of and the level of support is to be commended. As I was representing my company, Civic Ledger, the Summit enabled me to connect with delegates from other cities with some of these contacts leading to strong opportunities for collaboration on projects outside of Brisbane – opportunities that would not have been possible if we had not attended 2017APCS. Our panel consisting of five women and one male – all of us immersed in blockchain technologies from a variety of viewpoints – was very well received and enjoyed by the attendees. If you or your company is considering participating in 2019APCS in Brisbane – I urge you to do so – the experience was invaluable.

The 2017APCS in Daejeon was one of the most memorable events in my life. In addition to the honourable feeling of being a part of the event with so many international business and youth leaders, I felt lucky to be surrounded by so many kind and humble people. I am grateful to have been part of the Young Professionals’ program and having the opportunity to absorb the incredible atmosphere of change and genuine care for our communities.
